Loesje celebrated here 25th birthday all over the world.
Mail loesje25jaar@loesje.nl and tell us what you did on her birthday and we will announce it on this page.
Its not always necessary to know from
who your surprised or why. Its about the surprise itself!
A present on your shoe, a poem in your
pocket or an unexpected party in the street.
Jump into the unexpected, go with the
flow and see how your day will go.
Maybe your day will be totally
different than planned and better, much better than expected.
Maybe you find something what is not
nice, don't walk away, but try to change it.
Because thousand miles from here there
is another one smiling.
Just imagine how many people there are
thousand miles from her.
We hope these persons also let someone
laugh and a smile will travel all over the world.
On the 24th there are more
places who celebrate Loesje's birthday on the same way.
They all got the same banner and
thousand miles from here, they also make people smile.
So easy is it. Did you already let someone smile today?
The banner arise, on the bridge of Arnhem and here its still hanging
Loesje Finland couldn't wait for her real birthday, since it was a perfect day to celebrate 25year old Loesje on 10th October, the national day of Literature. Loesje and her friends took over Tullintori square with chalk pens, Loesje posters and old Finnish Loesje texts. The oldest ones translated in Finnish were from 1991, when Finland saw Loesje for the first time. Some little Loesje-notes were also hanging from strings attached between the trees.
After a while Loesje
got company. Some girls and a children family stopped by and joined
the drawing. The children were interested in dancing on the footsteps
drawn on the ground. Old man stopped reading the texts and was
delighted with the texts. Loesje was smiling.
Soon she was
smiling even more, eating birthdaycakes (yeah we had to bake many so
that there's enough for her friends too). In Finnish way the party
included also sauna of course.
So the Loesje's big birthday
celebration has got started, but this was just the begin, naturally.
Loesje's Finnish friends will celebrate later on 24th November in
sportive way!
greetings,
Linda

MACEDONIA/ SKOPJE
On a cold Monday morning in the soc-realistic building of the State University of Skopje,
Loesje decided to shine a little light by spreading her progressive thoughts around.
She put a big banner in the main hole of the building
and although the smell of apathy was in the air two nice guys helped her to get it on the nicest spot.
Then she decided to stick some posters on the walls, and while doing that two other girls were so fascinated by her wit that they shipped in to stick some of her posters too.
They decided that the streets are also in a desperate need of Loesje`s thoughts, so they took some posters with them to spread around.
After that day at the university she went to another part of the town where she remains until today- smiling to all the other people a thousand miles away from here.
Loesje is a big girl now, although she gained her wit a long time ago;)
Happy 1/4 of a century!

GERMANY/ BERLIN
We invited Loesje to our office on Monday at six. We did not tell her we were going to have a surprise party with 25 presents, cake and coffee. The clock stroked six, but Loesje was not to be seen.
We waited until seven, but when she still had not come we decided to go out in the city and leave the birthday presents there, maybe she would find one, if we made her a map of where we hid them, or then other people would pick up the presents and hopefully like them.
We walked around Berlin two hours until we got cold and hungry. Then we went back to have cake and coffee at the office. Some friends and neighbours joined the party. They came with toys and good stories, so we played games and had a good time.
So Loesje, if you read this, happy birthday!
Wherever you are.

SPAIN/MADRID
We were in Madrid during the Loesje birthday weekend and we decided to hang up the poster in La Latina.
La Latina is a neighborhood in the
center of Madrid and on Sundays a lot of people go there to spend the
evening drinking cañas and eating tapas. We thought will be the best location
because a lot of youth and people are passing around. We meet there around 4 in the afternoon
and look around the possible good locations for the banner. We found the metro station the best one
and we hung it up there.
People looked at us and at the banner
and started to smile.
It was a great feeling!
Greetings Mery maria
