Loesje celebrates!

On the 24th of November 1983, Loesje made her first appearance on the streets of Arnhem. Now, 25 years later, she’s still there but you can also find her posters in many other parts of the world. With a wink and a smile, she shares out her ideas all over the globe. You might have come across one of her posters unexpectedly when turning a corner.

The best thing is that she isn’t done yet. She still has loads of plans she’d like to carry out. Therefore she writes slogans and sticks posters with everyone who’s willing to join. As she herself puts it, ‘Actually my life has been a big party for the past 25 years’. Will you join in with the celebrations?

Loesje goes international

You probably know Loesje, but did you know she has also travelled around the world? In the past 25 years she has visited hundreds of places all over the globe and, when she left, there have always been people who took up her ideas and kept on writing. Berlin has been her second home since 2005; from this hangout she keeps in touch with her friends in and outside Europe.

Birthday actions

Throughout the world people are preoccupied with a lot of the same subjects. That's what Loesje found out on her travels. But there are differences as well. Differences between cultures, religions, ways of living; enough differences and similarities to create beautiful texts about. Every town has its own wishes, dreams and problems. And sometimes a small poster just isn’t enough. Sometimes you have a text that’s so beautiful or important that it needs a bit more attention. That’s why, on her birthday 24 November, we hung huge banners with these texts at beautiful spots in different countries.
